.UK is the country code top-level domain for the United Kingdom. Until 2014 one could only register domains under the second-level domains .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk, but since then direct registrations under .UK were made possible.
There are no restrictions for the .UK TLD. Anyone can register one and they are served on a first-come basis.
However, the TLD requires an Administrative Contact that has an address in the UK. NordName's local contact service is included in the prices, so we will provide a valid Administrative Contact for you.
To transfer an .UK domain to NordName, you will have to contact the current registrar of your domain and ask them to change the IPS-TAG on your domain. The IPS-TAG will be provided to you via email once you have ordered the domain transfer.

The registry is EU based and your data protection rights are secured. By registering under this TLD you hold the right to become forgotten (data erasure). Your contact details will also not be exported to a 'third country'. In summary, you are safe and hold your fundamental privacy rights. You're good to go.
